Environmental Infection Control Investigation and Consulting 

The Council-certified Environmental Infection Control Investigator (CEICI) and the Council-certified Environmental Infection Control Consultant (CEICC) help prevent infection control problems in the built environment. A CEICI or CEICC advises building owners during demolition, remodeling, repair and renovation projects. A CEICI or CEICC can help identify construction practices which might contribute to the spread of infection. A CEICI or CEICC can help develop an infection control risk assessment (ICRA) and assemble a project management team.

A CEICI or CEICC also investigates existing infection control issues. He or she can locate the source of a problem and recommend steps to correct it.

A CEICI or CEICC has verified knowledge of disciplines related to environmental infection control. The certification exams cover the most respected texts in the field. Those who pass the exams must understand the scientific principles governing infection control. They must be familiar with current practices and standards affecting consultants and investigators. They must know how to produce a risk assessment (ICRA). They must be able to assemble a project management team. They must know how to conduct an investigation and report their findings.

To earn the Council-certified Environmental Infection Control Investigator (CEICI) or Council-certified Environmental Infection Control Consultant (CEICC) designations, a candidate must:

The CEICI and CEICC certifications are accredited by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), a nationally recognized independent accreditation body.  ACAC certifications are the ONLY designations in the indoor air quality field to earn CESB accreditation.
