Council-certified Environmental Allergen Technician (CEAT)
(VOCATIONAL)
Field experience not required.
Candidates must attest to current employment in environmental allergen investigations
at the time of application.
Program Summary:
The Council-certified Environmental Allergen Consultant (CEAC) and the Council-certified Environmental Allergen Investigator (CEAI), and the Council-certified Environmental Allergen Technician (CEAT) investigate environmental allergen issues. These professionals have verified knowledge of disciplines related to environmental allergens, including not only allergens and allergic responses, but also HVAC, building science, and general indoor air quality.
CEACs and CEAIs posses verified experience conducting field investigations of environmental allergen issues in one or more of the following settings:
Residences
Offices and commercial buildingss
Industrial structures
Government facilities
Schools and public buildings
Healthcare facilities
To earn the Council-certified Environmental Allergen Consultant (CEAC) or Council-certified Environmental Allergen Investigator (CEAI) designations, the candidate must:
Demonstrate verifiable field experience in environmental allergen investigation
Pass a rigorous examination based on broad industry knowledge rather than a course curriculum
Earn the unanimous approval of the CEAC or CEAI certification board
Re-certify every two years
Participate in 20 hours of professional development activities each year
Maintain the highest ethical standards
Accreditation:
The CEAC and CEAI certifications are applicants for accreditation by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), a nationally recognized independent accreditation body. ACAC certifications are the ONLY designations in the indoor environmental field to earn CESB accreditation.
OUR CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS
Restoration and Remediation:
ACAC offers restoration industry certifications and contractor certifications such as mold contractor certifications, indoor air quality certifications, water damage certifications, fire and water restoration certifications; structural drying certifications, moisture control certifications, and thermography certifications.
Administration and Management:
ACAC offers emergency management certifications and indoor air quality management certifications.
Investigation and Consulting:
ACAC offers mold inspector certifications, indoor air quality certifications, environmental certifications, infection control certifications, thermography certifications, allergen certifications, and fire and smoke certifications.
25 ACAC certification programs are accredited by the
Council of
Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB).
All ACAC examinations are compliant with standards published by APA,
AERA and NCME.
